 Students’ Federation of India

Central Executive Committee
4, Ashoka Road, New Delhi-110001

The Central Executive Committee of Students' Federation of India dips its flag in the memory of martyr  comrade Saifuddin Mollah, who was beaten to death by a gang of TMC goons in Baruipur of South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal yesterday.

Comrade Saifuddin was the President of Baruipur 2 rural Local committee of SFI and was returning to his home in Sitakundu Bazar from a public meeting of Suryakanta Mishra, the leader of opposition in the West Bengal assembly. He was beaten to death with brutal assaults of bamboo sticks by the Trinamool goons.

This incident reflects the perils that democracy today finds itself in the state of West Bengal. Since the 2011 assembly elections 142 left supporters and activists have been killed. Resistance to the attacks on the democratic rights and civil liberties of citizens in the state has become important for ensuring democracy throughout the country.

The Central Executive Committee of SFI  calls upon  all its units throughout the country  to observe an All India Protest Day on 21st January against the murder of our beloved comrade Saifuddin Mollah.

The CEC of SFI expresses solidarity with the brave and heroic struggles of  our comrades in Bengal.

Comrade Saifuddin Mollah Red Salute
